Honest builders that answer when you call.

Everyone says they communicate.

We go one step further: one project manager whose cell you'll have, a weekly update you didn't have to ask for, and every change order approved before it happens — not after.

"RHC did an incredible job, communicating well throughout and doing impeccable work. They even managed to come in slightly under budget. We enthusiastically recommend them!”

New homes

A house takes fifty-odd people — excavators, plumbers, drywallers, our carpenters. We hold the schedule, the budget, and all fifty of them accountable. Foundation to final punch list.

You get one number to call, a weekly update you didn't have to ask for, and open books — every sub invoice, every receipt, every hour worked.

Renovations

Old buildings hide things. We've opened enough Upper Valley walls to have a decent guess at what's behind yours before we start — and when we find something, you hear about it that day, in writing, before it turns into a change order.

Kitchens, baths, full gut renos, garage and basement conversions, structural repair.

ADUs

Rental income, a place for aging parents, or somewhere to put your guests that isn't the couch. We've built 10+ of them since 2023 — attached, detached, and one in an old horse barn.

Two things we're stubborn about

We take pride in building things that look nice, function well, and people love using. Two things get us there:

#1: Collaboration — Owner, architects, engineers, consultants, our carpentry crew, subcontractors — a project can have fifty-plus people touching it. Getting those fifty to come together and stay on schedule is most of the job. The building part is almost the easy half.

#2: Curiosity — Building practices keep changing and we find that genuinely fun. We read the research, we try the new assemblies, we go deep on the nerdy construction stuff. It's how we've found methods that build better and cost less, which is a combination that isn't supposed to exist.

One more thing worth knowing: framing, finish, stairs, built-ins — that's our own crew, not a sub we called. It's why our schedules hold, and why we can price carpentry ourselves instead of waiting on someone else's estimate. We’re based in Orford, and most of our team lives within twenty minutes of the jobs we're on.

We look forward to working with you.

Here's what happens when you call

Tell us what you're thinking about building. We can usually give you a rough per-square-foot range right there on the phone — enough to know whether it's in the neighborhood of what you had in mind.

If it sounds like a fit, we come walk the site. No charge for that.

After that, depending on scope, we may charge for a detailed estimate. A real one means pricing the assemblies and getting numbers back from subs, which takes days of actual work. Paying for it means you get a number you can build to, not a guess that moves later.
